Some people think of stress as just a mental state which involves excessive pressures, worries and anxieties of our modern life. However, this is not fully right. These things are just common causes of stress. Stress is nothing but the natural and inappropriate reaction of your body to these causes. This primitive biological reaction is the cause of most of the serious symptoms of stress. 

Most of the common physical symptoms that you observe are due to your own body’s “fight or flight” response which was not supposed to be used for extended periods of time. These responses help us reacting in dangerous situations. This process involves the use of chemicals released by our body and hormones to heighten awareness and give us instant boost of energy either to stay and fight or run away.

This chemical response is only goof for short term problems which can be resolved physically and does not harm a fit human body. However, in today’s modern period problems are not short term and also can’t be resolved physically. Today problems, worries are much bigger and stay for long. Therefore, our bodies remain stressed and alert for longer time which is not safe for our bodies thereby causing the major health problems that are associated with stress. 

Here is a list of some common symptoms of stress – although the list will get too long. However any of these common symptoms on their do not necessarily mean that you are suffering from stress. But if you can relate yourself with many of these common symptoms, then stress is quite likely to be the root cause. And you must take some serious actions to reduce your stress and thereby avoiding some major health issues. 

BEHAVIORAL SYMPTOMS 

• Obesity & Over-eating 
• Excessive use of alcohol and cigarettes 
• Loss of Appetite & Sleep. 
• Easily irritable with others 
• Substance Abuse 
• Inability to take decisions 
• Less concentration (the most common symptom) 
• Paranoia 
• Jumping from one job to another without finish things 
• Excess of emotions and crying at small issues 
• Reduced sex drive/libido 
• Often biting nail 

If you are suffering from these symptoms, and then you are more likely to be full of stress. Meditation and some other useful techniques can make you come out of stress. Stress does not reduce your problems rather create more problems by damaging your health. So it is better to solve the problems with head on and do not feel stressed about your problems. This way you can be more confident and a happy person who is loved by all.
