Object Meditation

Object meditation works so well for the people who are innovative and need a point of focus. This type of meditation involves the selection of a central object on which to concentrate. The first step in this procedure involves staring at that central object without any interruption. The object should be 30 centimeters away from your eyes. While you stare at your object, follow the following plan of action:

1. Concentrate while you inhale and exhale each time, but breathe freely and naturally.
2. Be aware of the air entering into your nostrils, filling your lungs and leaving your body.
3. Try to keep your mind free of all thoughts.
4. If your mind gets distracted, then return your focus on the object, relax and start again.
5. When your body begins to relax, realize the sensation but keep maintaining your focus.
 6. Once you feel completely relaxed, close your eyes and try to see the imprint of the object on your eyelids.
7. Breathe deeply, focus and keep your mind free of all thoughts, until you are able to perform this task for about 30 minutes.

Mantra Meditation

Another technique of meditation which is sufficient for everybody is mantra meditation. This type of meditation is especially useful for those who are verbally motivated and is useful for all ages. In order to perform this technique of meditation, one must select a sound or a key work, called mantra. Then, follow the following steps:

1. Sit comfortably with closed eyes.
2. Start breathing evenly in and out but don’t change the natural rhythm of your breaths.
3. As you feel relaxed, start whispering the chosen mantra repeatedly.
4. Allow the mantra to be repeated only in your mind, from whisper.
5. If your mind gets distracted, return to your mantra without remorse.
6. Ignore the factor that your body is relaxing and just become one with the mantra.
7. Set a time period for this and continue to do it for the set period.
8. Then, open your eyes, stretch your body and enjoy the peaceful and soothing feeling.

This way you can meditate easily and get yourself charged and live a healthy life with peace of mind.

    1. Indeed. And in judaism it's called Teffillah.
Even if buddhism is associated with meditation, the practice of meditation was born thousands yearas before buddha was born :)
