How To Avoid Dry And Chapped Lips

We often go through the problem of chapped and dry lips, especially in winters. It is really important to take care of your lips. Proper diet is really important like cucumber. They have the power to soothe dry lips. There are several natural remedies that you can follow to keep your lips soft. Here are some useful tips that will help you keeping your lips beautiful:

1. Keep your lips moisturized 

You can apply some Vaseline or some other moisturizing cream on your lips to keep them moisturized. These creams help in healing the cracks of your lips. You can apply good vitamin E moisturizers and colourless lip balms to keep them moist and soft. It is necessary to moist your lips at least 2 times a day, after taking bath and before going to sleep. 

2. Avoid licking your lips 

Licking is the main reason for dry and chapped lips. Licking makes your lips dry and our saliva contains some acid which when evaporates, it also takes away the moisture of your lips. Although it can give you temporary relief but it actually spoils your lips. 

3. Honey 

Honey is a great natural moisturizer and anti-septic which is a great remedy for chapped and dry lips. When applied, it kills all the germs and moisture your lips by healing them. Apply some honey on your chapped lips and let it dry for sometime. Then wash it off with cold water. Try this procedure daily for fast results. 

4. Cucumbers 

Cucumbers are quit effective in reducing the pain of your chapped lips due to the cooling properties present in them. Slice a cucumber and put these pieces in your fridge for about 30 minutes. Now keep these slices on your lips and remove them after 20 minutes. This will reduce the darkness and dryness of your lips. 

5. Natural oils 

Oils like olive oil, coconut oil, almond oil are quite rich in vitamin E and contain skin softening properties that help in healing the cracks. You can apply any of the above oils on your lips or you can mix all these oils and apply them altogether for better results. Apply this oil at night before going to bed for best results. 

6. Aloe vera 

Aloe vera is a great remedy as it has healing properties and antioxidants that make it the best natural product for treating your chapped lips. Apply the aloe vera gel on your lips and leave it for 25 minutes so that your lips can absorb antioxidants present in the gel.
