How you can dramatically improve your health by eating diet according to your blood type.

Dr. Peter J. D'Adamo with Allan Richards introduced an interesting theory behind the Blood Type Diet in their book Maximise Your Health With The Blood Type Diet, nearly 30 years ago.

Nutritionist Juliette Kellow tells us there’s “no scientific evidence to support it", while Karen says many of her patients have achieved “dazzling results in very little time”.

Lectins are a Proposed Link Between Diet and Blood Type:

Lectins are a diverse family of proteins that can bind sugar molecules.
These substances are considered to be antinutrients, and may have negative effects on the lining of the gut.
According to the blood type diet theory, there are many lectins in the diet that specifically target different ABO blood types.
It is claimed that eating the wrong types of lectins could lead to agglutination(clumping together) of red blood cells.
So, let's have a look at the various blood groups and understand their characteristics.
Blood type O:
A high-protein diet heavy on lean meat, poultry, fish, and vegetables, and light on grains, beans, and dairy. D'Adamo also recommends various supplements to help with tummy troubles and other issues he says people with type O tend to have.

Blood type A: A meat-free diet based on fruits and vegetables, beans and legumes, and whole grains -- ideally, organic and fresh, because D'Adamo says people with type A blood have a sensitive immune system.

Blood type B: They are more flexible compared to A or O. Unlike, these two blood groups, B can intake nutrients from both the worlds—animals and vegetables.
But it's very important for Bs to maintain the balance. Bs tend to be more physically and mentally fit than any other blood type. Although, Bs might be victims of Syndrome X as it produces higher cortisol levels in stressful situations.

Blood type AB: This rare blood type as Dr D'Adamo claims, "Type AB has Type A's low stomach acid, however, they also have Type B's adaptation to meats," which can be a problem as the meat stored in the body turns into fats.
ABs should also avoid caffeine and alcohol during stressful situations. Especially, smoked or cured meats can cause stomach cancer. Abs have a sensitive digestive tract, so one must eat at small intervals to manage insulin levels.
